Binders for Best Books

We have put out three binders for our library patrons to recommend the books they liked reading. One binder is for parents of pre-schoolers, another binder is for grade school readers, and the last one is for our young adult (teen) readers.

If you really like a book, share it with others! Fill out a short form at the Youth Services Desk to be included in our binders. No names are necessary. Looking for a good book? Check out the binders to see what other people have recommended.

Pre-school Picture Books: Just Arrived

The Youth Services Department at Lincoln Public Library District has just received three great new picture books for pre-schoolers. We're All in the Same Boat by Zachary Shapiro is a new twist on the Noah's Ark story as well as a trip through the alphabet. The Odd Egg by Emily Gravett has small inset pages that allow the pictures to "grow" as the story progresses. Last but certainly not least is Betsy B. Little by Anne McEvoy. If you have a little girl who dreams of being a ballerina, this is the book for her. These are only three of our new books. Next time I will post new books for another reading age.

Book Club Being Organized

A new Book Club is being organized at the Lincoln Public Library. Those interested may come to voice their preferences on Monday, March 2 at 4:00 Pm in the Annex Community Room.! We would like the emphasis to be an adult/youth partnership on reading, but all other items are open for discussion. The group will be deciding on the format for reading, time frame, and meeting dates. Don't have a youth or adult to bring with you? Come anyway! Maybe we can match you up with someone!
