New Audio Titles

While reading a book is a favorite past time for most of us, there are times when the act of reading is difficult or inconvenient, such as car trips, taking a walk, exercising, or when you are not feeling so well.  Why not think about an audio book?  These stories on CD's and even tapes (if you still have that available to you) are great ways to catch up on your "reading" titles while you may not be able to hold a book or tablet.

Here a few great new ones we have added to our collection this month:

Insurgent by Veronica Roth (young adult)
Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator by Roald Dahl (juvenile)
Mathilda by Roald Dahl (juvenile)
The BFG by Roald Dahl (juvenile)
Son by Lois Lowry (young adult)
Pinkalicious by Victoria Kann (young juvenile)

You will find audio stories in the juvenile shelves by the non-fiction section, as well as included in our Whales of Fun Kits on the hanging racks.  Not sure where to look for them?  Ask one of us in the Youth Services Department.

LEGO Family Day

On Saturday, January 18, the Library will host our annual LEGO Family Day.  Parents and kids are invited to come create with LEGO blocks (their own or the library's), snack, and enter the door prize drawing for free books.  What a fun filled way to spend a Saturday morning!

We do ask for pre-registration so that we may set up enough table space for participants.  Just call the Youth Services Department (732-5732) before noon on Friday.  Then come Saturday morning and have fun.

The public is encouraged to come see what the families create.  Past years have included baseball stadiums, a library complete with shelves and circulation desk, New York City, and more!  Hope to see many of my favorite faces that day.
