Summer Reading Half Way Point

It is hard to believe that the 2012 Summer Reading Program reaches its half way mark tomorrow!  The time has flown, hasn't it?  Now is the time to check your reading progress to see how close you are to your goal.  Teens, be sure to come in to pick up your prizes from the weekly drawings.

Need new reading material?  We are getting new books in every week, so be sure to check the display bookcase as you come in to the Youth Services department.

We have enjoyed talking with you about your selections and seeing you at the Thursday events and Story Times.  Yesterday, Pattie Williams delighted us with her balloon art sculptures.  You can see the banana split and hamburger balloons on top of the stacks (until the air goes down).

There are still great programs coming up!  Next week will be musician Mike Anderson.  The 4th of July week we will take a break from programs so that every class has an even amount of attendance for the summer. WE WILL BE CHECKING LOGS THAT WEEK!!!  So come in and see us for more books.

After the holiday week, we will have two more Thursday events, so watch for information about them.

Happy reading.

Cold Blooded Creatures at the Library

On Thursday, June 14, Jim Nessi and his Cold Blooded Creatures were here at the library.  What a lot of fun!  We heard so many interesting things about these often misunderstood animals, and we got up close and very personal with all of them.
